2018 was a year with just as many tears as laughs, but I want to end the year focusing on the POSITIVES. Positive vibes only heading into 2019.
So with that in mind … It’s time for my annual BEST OF post! Each year I compile a list of my favorite things. In years past I have included a mix of new products I found and fell in love with, or things that I found myself consistently using through out the year. This year I am also including few things that represent memories created through the year.
While this post may include items that I received as gifts from brands, and affiliate links, all thoughts are my own!
First up, my Letterfolk Co board I believe I actually received this in 2017 but I really didn’t start using it until this year. I love changing up the quote, we use this on the entry table in our house. Most of 2018 it featured one of my favorite The Office quotes: Florida … a colorful lawless swamp.
2018 was the first year we were ever invited as Media to Disney events! We had the privilege of attending an After Hours event, and the Toy Story Land Media event. So I had to include the special lanyards they give you for that in this post because it was the proudest I have ever been of myself in my nearly 10 years blogging.
I also included the cute plush of Mickey dressed as Woody, it was part of the gift package they gave us for the Toy Story Land media event.
I so enjoyed working with brands like Otterbox this year. Both Cam and I used the cases they sent us. I especially love the Minnie one in this flat lay, Cam has the matching Mickey one (collective Awwwwww).
There is no denying 2018 was the year of Mickey! Some of my favorite Mickey items of the year include my plain Mickey ears which I picked up at the Disney Style Store in Disney Springs and my Mickey Convertible Bag from my friends at Harveys.
We can’t forget that in 2018 WE MOVED! It’s crazy to think that this time last year we weren’t sure where 2018 would take us and now we live in Florida. While I can’t honestly say we have enjoyed every minute (fixer uppers are a lot more work than Chip and Joanna let on), I do think it was the best decision for us. We have gown in ways I could’t have imagined. So on that note I have to mention how much I love my Harveys keychain. The one in the photo was a gift with purchase from their Disney Springs event this year, but you can see the current options on their website here.
My Minnie Vans are seriously one of my most prized possessions. A few months before the collection was officially released an employee at the Vans store saw my Disney bag and told me about the upcoming collection. After that, I searched vigorously for photos of the collection to appear online, and the day they did, I blogged all about it. Then I was the first person in line at our local Vans to get my shoes.
I have worn them to the parks several times and not only are they super comfortable they are also a conversation starter, don’t wear these if you don’t want everyone stopping to ask about your shoes.
My Annual Pass is pictured to celebrate our first year as Florida Residents, and all of the amazing memories we created with friends from near and far. You can always follow along with our park adventures on my instagram!
I think 75% of the photos we took this year featured me in my heart sunnies. I grabbed this pair off of Amazon. Pro tip - sunnies hide what I like to call “dead eye” which is a thing that most people suffer from after spending more than an hour in the Florida heat.
One of the last things we did this year was head to Hawaii! Thanks to our friend Cate we basically had a built in tour guide. For me, the stand out part of that trip was our visit to Aulani! I have wanted to go to Aulani since I heard it was announced as a project for Disney. Visiting was a bucket list item for sure!
If I had to choose one moment that was my favorite for the entire year it would be visiting Toy Story Land on opening day. I blogged all about it here so I won’t gush too much about this day again - but being there on opening day, as some of the first guests to experience it all, was a day I will never forget. I also will never forget waiting an hour for this Alien popcorn bucket. #worthit
2018 was full of changes, some good and some bad. It was full of more tears and more laughter than any year of my life. I am thankful for the friends that supported us and helped us grow and I am ready to head into a new year!
Thank you so much for following along with our adventures this year!
