Food and Wine festival officially started TODAY! Cam and I headed down there for some first day bites and to check out some of the merchandise. You can check my Instagram (@nicolina.co), I saved the first day stories in my Highlights.

First things first, always grab a passport! The passport contains all of the offerings at each kiosk as well as some passport stamp style stickers to mark where you have "traveled". They are free, and can be found at the front of the park as well as any of the kiosks.
As a reminder, Cam and I eat Gluten Free. So a lot of what we will be highlighting are the Gluten Free eats at the festival!
THE CHOCOLATE STUDIO
This was a favorite of ours in years past, and I am so glad it's back. If you are a chocolate lover this is for you! I 10/10 reccomend this!
Our new festival favorite so far is the Spice-crusted Verlasso Salmon! The Salmon was cooked perfectly, and the "power salad" on the bottom was yummy!
Cam tried the Grilled, Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp and I had the Lamb Chop. Cam liked the dish he got but not enough to get it again. The veggies weren't cooked consistently and the shrimp was under seasoned. I really loved the seasoning on the lamb chop, the mint pesto and potato crunchies, and the lamb was cooked good too!
This is the Creme Brulee a la Confiture de Framboises. I want to start this review by saying I LOVE Creme Brulee. If it's on the menu I will order it for dessert, so I was excited to try it when I saw it in the festival passport. I could have gotten a bad batch, but this was not very good at all. It wasn't set up well in the little tin at all, and the flavor was just OK. There are so many other AMAZING desserts at the festival, this is a pass for me!
We shared the Seafood Salad! This is served cold, and it is a great option for a super hot day! Our only complaint was once you got to the bottom of the cup, it was a little oily. The seafood tasted fresh though!
This is my second favorite of the festival! We shared the Beef Nigiri. It's kind of like a cooked beef sushi. There is rice under those thin slices of beef!
ISLANDS OF THE CARIBBEAN
The Frozen Mojito from the Islands of the Caribbean kiosk is a little light on the alchohol but it's EXTREMELY refreshing! If you love the flavor of mojitio this should be a must try for you.
If you are an Annual Passholder don't forget to pick up your magnet from the Festival Center. Also, four visits to Food and Wine festival and you can pick up a complementary cutting board too!
