My Sunday Lately link up posts seem to be the only blogging I can get done on the regular right now, but that's what it is here for.
Bloggers: searching for a tribe? Come join our Blogger Tribe facebook group, and join and share in our Sunday Lately link up as well. Next week's prompts are always listed at the bottom of each post.
taxes this week. Yuck. The worst part of owning your own business is all the paper work. We got so busy the past few months that we are a little behind on our normal organization, so we are dedicating a whole day to that next week. Then we can send everything over to our tax guy. I have a feeling we will be treating ourselves to some take out that night!
the fact that we are feeling even a little bit better than this time last week. I haven't been that sick in a long time. I miss my routine and running (shocking I know!) I am glad to finally be feeling on the mend.
invites! It's so weird after not doing them for so long some custom work and special projects have come my way and I fell right back into the swing of things.
I love doing them every once and a while, but I got so burned out doing them for all those years I don't know if I will go back to it being a full time offering.
The song for Illuminations, the night time fireworks display at Epcot. I can't get it out of my head,
a package in the mail! I ordered THE CUTEST SWIMSUIT EVER from ModCloth. (affiliate link) I can't wait for it to get here. Thanks Meghan for helping me decide on the pineapple print. It's very me! I linked to a few more cute pineapple things that ModCloth has below as well.
I have been a ModCloth fan for a while, but this is my first order. I am excited *hopefully* love it as much as I think I will.
To be honest, between getting back from vacation and then being sicker than I have been in a long time - I have totally lost track of what day it is. In other news if this post sounds like a rambling mess you can blame it on my meds.
ANOTHER TRIP! Of course we are. This time with our Disney BFF's Meghan and Corey. We decied to add 2 days ahead of the cruise we have planned for May to spend some time at Flower and Garden festival because it's my favorite time of year at Epcot.
We are totally wearing out our annual passes this year.
Also, with only 1 week since our half marathon we are already planning our next one! Disney's Marathon Weekend here we come!
Fuller House. Being sick since we got home has had it's perks. We are almost done with season 1. I love how corny it all is.
Nothing right now. We've been watching Fuller House haha.
I could get over this junk I have. It's rare that Cameron and I are both super sick at the same time. There is no one to make the food and do the laundry. Send help.
Overwhelmed by all of the well wishes and support I got here and on my instagram during and after the race! It's over and we are pumped for the next one!
Happy Sunday! It has been a crazy week filled with printing tees, running and preparing for our RACE WEEKEND which is just one week away.
It's time to check in, and catch up with Sunday Lately a weekly link up hosted by Blogger Tribe.
Our schedule for the week. Raise your hand if you always forget when the post office is closed for holidays? After a friendly reminder from Jenn my sister in law and email fairy, we had to re-plan the whole week. Not fun!
That just a few short months ago it was a task for me to run 1-2 miles. On Friday Cameron and I headed to the park and ran 10. It was our last long run before the race which is one week from today! EKKK! Cue excitement and nausea.
To get packing! I have a lists pile started in the office of all my tees and fun things to bring, but I am so nervous I am going to forget something critical to running.
Go check her adorable shop out!
Excited! I will have Disney brain for the next few days as we run all of our last min errands and tie up all of the loose ends in the shop. Then I will panic until the race. Then I will have all the fun!
Welcome to Sunday Lately, a weekly link up I host with some of my blogger girls Meghan and Katy. Join in on the fun using the linky list below, use our prompts or your own!
Guys. We brunched so hard this week. I got in the habit of cooking all of our leftovers and adding eggs to make it brunch-y on the weekend.
You should try it, it's amazing.
Planning out some big things for the week like a Black Friday sale for Designs by Nicolina and an order cut of date for Happily Ever Tees. Next week we have a pop up market we are participating in at one of our shops we stock in Atlanta, so I am doing some prep work for that as well.
Also filling up my planner for the next couple of months. I am currently working out of two planners since it's basically 2016! I can't believe it.
Our friends. Teenage Nicole was filled feelings. OK 25 year old Nicole is filled with feelings. Like most teenage girls I struggled to find friends and acceptance. Adults around me told me not to worry, and to just hold on because it would get better.
For the most part I didn't believe them. But they were right, it got better. Now we are surrounded by some of the best people I could ever imagine. Friends who would do anything for you and expect nothing in return.
I wish I could go back and tell teenage Nicole that everyone was right. It gets better. You will find your tribe. Even though I can't, all of the pain and tears were worth it to get me to where I am today.
Some new lettered items and projects for Designs by Nicolina.
It's coming up on DBN's 6 year anniversary and the past couple of months I have been feeling quite uninspired to be honest. But I feel like I have a new energy about it and I am so excited@
The next few weeks to be pretty crazy. But it will all be worth it! We have some fun adventures planned for 2016.
Do you have anything fun planned for 2016? I would love to hear about it!
Sunday Lately is here! It's time for the weekly link up that I host with my amazing blogger girls Katy and Meghan.
We would love to have you join, just head to the bottom of this post for the details.
Here's what's been going on this week around here.
My checklist! I have been diligent this week about keeping a checklist and my planner fully planned out. While every day individually hasn't gone exactly as planned, overall I'm putting this week in the win column.
I'm also pretty proud of myself for getting 3 Sunday Lately link ups in a row. Trying to get back in the blogging routine has not been easy, but I told myself to start with Sunday's and work up from there.
I hope to add a second regular blogging day soon! Baby steps.
Walt Disney World in just over 2 weeks! I am so excited to have a vacation. For the first time in a really long time, maybe ever, we are closing all the shops down for 2 weeks. This will give us our normal turnaround time on orders, and the ability to relax and enjoy ourselves. Instead of just being stressed out about work and emails in a hotel room.
YOU GOT THIS to myself. On the 10th we are participating in a 10K to get our proof of time submitted for the half marathon in February. I'm all kinds of freaked out.
Meghan and Corey have promised us breakfast when the race is over so I'm trying to focus on that. #willrunforwaffles
Nate Ruess. On Wednesday, I surprised Cam with an early anniversary gift to see is favorite, Nate Ruess in concert. The concert took place at the Buckhead Theater in Atlanta which was amazing because it's a small intimate venue.
We had the best time, and I legit surprised Cam which is a huge task for me.
Some time for myself, kind of a treat yo self day. Cameron and I had a long talk this week about making sure we are taking care of ourselves and not just letting the business run our lives. The truth is that I don't want my work to be the only thing I do all day and I have to be the one who controls that.
So here's to mid week date nights, and mani-pedi lunch breaks. I deserve it.
Welcome to Sunday Lately! A fun link up I co host with my friends Katy and Meghan. Join us each Sunday as we catch up and share a little bit about our week.
My closet. Temps dipped in the 50's for the first time this week so it's out with the shorts and in with the sweaters. I actually don't have a ton of room to totally swap and store clothes for each season. What this really means is I fold up my summer stuff and place it on the shelf where my sweaters sit all summer.
Strangely I have actually turned into someone who really likes warm weather, so I am not as pumped for Fall and Winter as I usually am. But I am welcoming the use of all the cardigans in my closet this week.
Myself that I need to wait until we are a little bit closer for the trip to pack! We leave for Disney in just about 20 days, and I have Disney Brain, packing fever and I have it BAD.
Just a few more things for Disney, then I will be all ready to go! I use trips as good reasoning to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. I picked up some cute stuff from Madewell's sale section like this and this.
My new Fairest of them All pullover sweater that's coming soon to my shop Happily Ever Tees. I love how soft and light weight these are. Perfect for this time of year!
Content with the crazy that is my life right now.
August/September is the absolute worst for Cameron's fall allergies and asthma. It's so hard to function when you can't breathe well. It totally wears you down. Not to mention prepping for closing up the shop for vacation! October can't come soon enough!
Welcome to the weekly link up I host with the lovely Katy and Meghan! I finally have my act together and got my post ready early so I can join in.
If I am being honest the past few weeks have been a whirlwind. Learning a new skill, and taking over Happily Ever Tees has been a lot more life consuming that I had planned. Our tees have really taken off the past few weeks as well. It's super rewarding to be creating something people seem to love and really connect with, but it's overwhelming at the same time.
I am trying to get my life, blog and workspace back on track. I think the best way to do things is to re-introduce them one at a time. So for the next few weeks I am going to put all of my focus into making sure I have a post going live every Sunday on schedule. Once I have nailed that down, I will be adding a couple of posts during the week as well.
These posts will mainly focus on lifestyle topics, business endeavors and sharing things that I love.
So without any further delay here's Sunday Lately!
At home a lot. We have some travel coming up soon, and that always is preceded by home time. Lots of home cooked meals, and not as much random errand shopping that always leads to me spending money.
Myself to some podcast listening! I have been spending a lot of time at my desk answering emails and packing up shirts. I have found that I can't focus with a show on, but listening to a podcast is super relaxing.
For the business, boss lady side of things I am finally getting close to caught up on the She Percolates podcast. And for the Disney lover in me I love the WDW Radio podcast. I am all caught up on that, but I have been going back and getting some older episodes that I haven't listened to before.
To blog. I went into detail at the top of this post. When I am busy, blogging is the first thing that gets cut out. 99% of the time it's because I forget I have a blog haha.
The social media sites I check all the time. I am so close to completely deleting Facebook off my phone. It just makes me mad sometimes.
I have been loving Snapchat [find me @nicolina.co] and Twitter [@nicolinadotco] and as always Instagram [@nicolina.co]. I have been watching some on periscope, but no live streaming for me yet!
On my extreme list making abilities to get me through to when I can use my new planner in January! I finally committed and laid down the cash to order the new Emily Ley planner, and I am already in LOVE.
I highly recommend it, and hope to do a new post on it soon.
My Sunday Lately post is coming at you on a Monday! But it's a Monday most people have off, so I guess that kind of counts as a Sunday, right?
On making this week a full week of a schedule we have been working towards. Since started printing tees, we have had something happen each week to throw us off our schedule.
The new and improved schedule should leave time for everything, even working out, laundry and cleaning the house which are the first things to get neglected. We really need to stick to a schedule to have time for personal and spiritual things.
I am excited to put this plan into action!
My new mug. My other two co-hosts shared some Star Wars love in their posts this week so I figured I should do the same. I got it at the Disney Store (on clearance!) when we took our niece and nephew to a special Star Wars event they had going on Saturday morning.
A book I picked up at Barnes and Noble in the clearance section. It's called Girls in White Dresses. I don't like it. However, I feel obligated to finish it before I start another book, because I bought it, even though it was only like $3. Do you ever have this problem? It will for sure be going out at the next garage sale.
I was doing a better job posting on the blog recently. Hopefully making some changes in our schedule and blocking out time in my schedule to blog will help me in this aspect as well.
Excited for our trip coming up to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We're going to our happy place, Walt Disney World! Get ready for some Disney themed posts hitting the blog in the next few weeks.
I just need to decide which Happily Ever Tees I am going to pack!
Long time no post! I am trying not to let my blogging slacking get the best of me so instead of focusing on the fact that I haven't posted since July 6th ... I am going to focus on the fact that I am posting today.
So welcome to the Sunday Lately link up that I host with two of my blogging buddies Meghan & Katy. We would love to have you join so feel free to add your link in the linky list below. Don't forget that next week's prompts are always at the bottom of the post.
Let's get started!
Our first full week of orders from Happily Ever Tees. Last year I started a little tee shirt business with my friend Katy. Last week Cameron and I took it over full time, screen printing each tee shirt. After lots of long hours working the kinks out of our process we got our first full week of work under our belts.
It's amazing how much you learn (and quickly) when learning a new skill. We are already looking back at the way we did a few things at the start of the week like WHAT WERE WE THINKING.
My grandparents in NYC at the beginning of August. It's been a year since we have seen them, and a lot has happened in that year for my grandpa heath wise. I am excited to see them and that he is finally on the mend after months in and out of the hospital.
"Get out of bed and go for a run today!" to myself on most mornings. By 9am it's just way too hot and humid to run, so I have to get to bed early so I can get my run in. Just 210 days until my first half marathon! YIKES.
Myself! Cameron and I have been trying to get better about impulse purchases. You know when you see a shirt on clearance for so cheap you have to get it even if it doesn't fit? Or something you 100% don't need but you convince yourself you NEED it because it's on sale and there will never be another sale in the history of time ever again!? That was my issue. I felt like I would be loosing money by not scooping up that deal.
Limiting my purchases to things that I need, and selling the things I don't need any more on Ebay or Poshmark, leaves me money to spend on things I can really be excited about! Like this perfect sweater, or this pair of jeans in the Madewell sale section. Thank you for an additional 40% off sale, and in store sale being way more marked down than online.
Our plans for the coming weeks. My parents are moving. We are heading to New York. Add in regular errands, family stuff and work and it looks like we are totally booked up for a bit. Scheduling is my only way to cope with madness.
