Free Printable Packing Planner

When I am packing for a trip I do one of two things. I will either over-pack to the point that I am bringing 25 outfits in a giant suitcase for a weekend away, or I under-pack and run out of clothes by day two.

The only thing that helps me be more intentional with my packing is to be super organized. Which is why I created my printable packing planner!

My printable packing planner, which I am offering as a FREE DOWNLOAD for you, has everything to help you stay organized and ensure you don't forget anything.

I am going to go through a little bit about the packing planner and some packing tips in the next section of this post. Please feel free to scroll all the way to the bottom of the post for the link to the download. Just remember, this Free Download is for personal use only.

A little about my Printable Packing Planner:

So much more goes into packing efficiently than just throwing stuff into a suitcase. Which is why I created my Printable Packing Planner.

Each sheet of the Packing Planner can hold up to five days of plans. I like to detail everything that we plan to do that day so I can be sure that I have what I need for each event of the day. There are also twelve checkboxes on the bottom of the sheet where you can add things that you want to make sure you don't forget. This would be a great place to add things like toothpaste, makeup, things that you need for everyday and don't need to be broken down day by day. The Packing Planner has space to write the day, weather, and plans in addition to all of the items that you might need for the day.

When I am writing in the "for this day I will need" box on the Packing Planner I write everything from the earrings to the socks that I might need to wear for the day. That way I have complete outfits all together. This also helps me remember what I brought to wear each day because sometimes I forget by the time I get to vacation!

A few packing tips:

I LOVE packing for trips almost as much as I love the vacation itself. So I consider myself a pro-packer. I thought I would share a few of my packing tips in this post as well.

A place for everything and everything in it's place. Packing cubes and little pouches are your friend! It really helps you stay organized and it is so much easier to pack up to head home when you don't have everything all over the hotel room.

Consider the weather. My Dad used to print out the 10 day forecast when we were packing so we would all know what we were packing for. Even though weather changes quickly, checking out the forecast and maybe even a few years average high/lows will help you plan for the ups and downs you might face on the trip.

Find someone on Instagram who lives there. So this might seem like a weird tip but I have found it to be super helpful. It kind of goes along with the weather tip! For me it's helpful to get ideas of what I will need from people who live in the environment I am heading to every day. You could even reach out and send them a DM asking if they have any packing suggestions for the month you are heading to their neck of the woods.

Pack in a color palette. This is maybe my favorite tip! Packing in a color palette helps you cut down on the amount of accessories and shoes you take with you. Creating several outfits from a few pieces keeps things simple! It's almost like a capsule wardrobe for your vacation.

Remember rain gear. I really don't care where you are going, don't forget your rain gear. While I feel like this is especially true for city trips, or theme park vacations where you plan to walk a lot outside, it really can apply anywhere. There is nothing worse than being soaked all day. Get yourself a nice packable rain jacket and some shoes that will dry quickly and make them staples in your suitcase.

FINALLY Don't stress about it too much. Once you get your planner filled out and organized stop adding things to your suitcase. Don't stress about what you might be forgetting, or if you need to throw that one more thing into the bag. As Cam always likes to remind me, there are probably stores where you are going, you can always buy what you forgot there.
