Sunday Lately Week 87

Nicole WhiteComment

After an unexpected break from the blog for family and random business distractions. I have been really on top of my blogging this week! So in honor of that, happy Sunday Lately!

Here's what's been going on this week in the White House.

Doing

image.jpg

Getting excited about random business things like a tagged, and new tags! I don't know why I didn't do this sooner! The closer I get to the end of the year the more I like to reevaluate our packaging.

I thought adding these tags would also be perfect for gift-giving.

PLUS I feel like a boss doing it.

Appreciating

My amazing husband who does so much for us. I was super sick last week with a cold. I had a fever and was so weak all week. He took the time to do all the grocery shopping, clean the house and cook meals for us. In his words "It's hard to be Nicole." I am so thankful he didn't let us get too behind. I hate when sickness knocks me out for more than a day.

image.jpg

Desigining

TONS of new prints, and a new website for Designs by Nicolina. To be totally honest, when Happily Ever Tees started doing so well it kind of threw me off guard.  I took a break from Designs by Nicolina for a while just to get my feet under me a little.

I feel like we actually are getting on a work schedule that leaves some time for paper goods, so I relaunched Designs by Nicolina last week. I will be adding more as time goes on.

Humming

Hamilton. All day every day.

Expecting

A fun but busy September! A work/play Orlando trip, then we are part of a special project, then I am taking Cam to a golf tournament, then we have a family wedding and maybe even more fun that we haven't scheduled yet!

Disney Mugs Monthly

Disney, ReviewsNicole White43 Comments

I am so excited to introduce you to one of my new favorite things. It also makes an amazing gift for Disney lovers.

Disney Mugs Monthly is a monthly service offered by long time personal Disney shopper Alexis. She was kind enough to send me this month's mug for my review on her service, and has offered to send one of my readers the September mug pick which will be announced soon!

The August mug pick was actually a collection of mugs with a castle on one side, and characters on the other. Of course I had to pick the Beauty and the Beast design, but you can view the other choices that will be available through August 31st on her website here (you could also have Alexis pick for you!)

Beauty and the Beast Mug GIF

The mug comes perfectly wrapped up in bubble wrap for safe travels!

I had a chance to sneak peek the pick for next month, and if you are a WDW lover it will be a must have for you. I love that Alexis chooses mugs that are park exclusives, so those of us who don't get to the parks as often as we would like have a chance to drink out of some magic that reminds us of home every once and a while.

Another awesome thing is, it's not a subscription service (although no one says you don't have to order it every month!) You only have to buy the mugs of the month that you LOVE.

Now it's time for the giveaway! Alexis is offering one of my readers a September Disney Mugs Monthly box! Enter below, must be 18+ and live in the USA to win.

Plunder Jewelry Review and Giveaway

Nicole White7 Comments

I am so exited to team up with Anastasia a consultant for Plunder Jewelry today to show off a fun jewelry brand and give a few things away!

image.jpg

So first a little bit about Plunder and Anastasia. Plunder is a fairly new direct sales company that's growing at an amazing rate! Anastasia has been a consultant for Plunder for a little over a year. Plunder helped her through some rough times she has experienced in the last year. Both financially and with the support system she has built along the way. There are currently approx. 5,000 stylists across the country and about 500 more are added monthly!

Now let's chat about the fun stuff! The jewelry!

As far as the jewelry goes the vintage charm and the pricing make it the perfect addition to your wardrobe. Prices start at just $8. They even offer custom pieces like photo charms.

image.jpg

Items range from inspirational to trendy, but all offer that touch of vintage charm.

Even the packaging carries their style through which is so important when gift giving.

image.jpg

I am in love with this arm party Anastasia put together for me. The initial bangle mixes silver and gold with a pearl dangle and the stretch arrow bracelet is the perfect accent.

image.jpg

I love that the bangle is adjustable, and the arrow bracelet is stretchy so it will fit a wide range of wrist sizes. These bracelets are both under $20!

I am usually not an earrings girl, but I love how light weight and fun these are! I especially love how the triangle dangles have a little sparkle to them.

image.jpg
image.jpg

This long necklace is the piece I have found myself wearing the most. I love the uniqueness of it, and the little touch of sparkle. The dainty chain and the chunky pendant make it the perfect layering piece.

image.jpg

How adorable is this birdhouse pendant, even though this isn't in stock anymore Anastasia was kind enough to send this to me as it was a favorite piece of many! I plan on gifting this to my Mom because she loves little birdies!

image.jpg

Throughout the week I will be sharing some fun styled looks using my Plunder pieces on my Instagram and adding them to this post as well. Want to have some jewelry fun of your own?

Enter below to have a chance at winning a $25 Plunder Gift Card, or a Pair of Filigree Earrings (two winners will be chosen at random Wednesday August 31st, they will be notified via email and displayed on the widget below)

Thinking of becoming a Plunder Consultant, it's just $99 to join and that includes all marketing materials, catalogues, thank you cards, ect. Contact Anastasia for more info!

Harveys Alice In Wonderland Collection PART 2

Nicole White2 Comments

The Alice In Wonderland Collection Part 2 launches tomorrow at 8am PST. Keep reading for more details on what's included in the collection and my tips for shopping on launch day!

This part of the collection includes a "Queen of Hearts" inspired print, that comes with a printed belt, scarlet red accents, Alice liner, and a fun card shapes dangle.

Below you can find photos of all the pieces being launched tomorrow, with the exception of one piece that Harveys will announce at the launch! Hint from our friends at Harveys: it's a larger bag

This clutch/wristlet piece is so adorable. It looks like it will fit a lot, and it's a great statement bag.

image.jpg
image.jpg

Inspired by the Queen of Hearts herself. Look at how cute that charm dangle is!

image.jpg

The foldover bags have been super popular in the past, I believe they were last released with the Minnie/Mickey Colorblock collection. I love the card accents featuring characters, and the red trim ties it all together. There are two sizes which can be seen in the photos above and below.

image.jpg

The foldover above is an amazing size. I think it would be great for an all day park bag, or even book bag as it's large and has plenty of room for anything you might need. You can see the smaller foldover in the photo below.

image.jpg

This is one of my favorite pieces, the Streamline Wallet. You can read my review of the wallet here. It's so versatile, and this pattern is adorable in the style.

image.jpg

Edited to add the SURPRISE BAG: The Marilyn!

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, there is one more style that Harveys will be announcing tomorrow as the collection launches.

So now that you are excited for the launch tomorrow how about some tips on how to make sure you get everything you want as the collection launches.

  • Go to ShopHarveys.com and set up an account
  • Make sure you are logged in and ready to go before 8am PST
  • Have the website open and keep clicking that refresh button until 8am PST, when the items go live
  • Be quick! No time to worry about whether or not you need it! Buy first, ask questions later that's my motto. Nothing haunts you like the bags you didn't buy!
  • If all else fails, check with some Harveys authorized retailers to see if they plan on getting stock. A lot of those shops take preorders and would be happy to help you out! You could also join a Facebook Group, like this one here, usually those ladies are awesome about sharing when they find items in stock again!

Happy shopping!

my Origami Owl locket! Check out Thursday's post to read more about it and enter the amazing giveaway!

Reading

nothing much at the moment. I do have a stack of books on my dresser that I bought from Barnes and Noble LAST SUMMER. I promised myself that I would take some time to read more this summer, we will see how that goes!

Wishing

we lived at the beach. I feel so much better when the salt air is filling my lungs. Coming home did not agree with me.

Feeling

so extremely tired this week. We came home, with the weekend off before we had to get back into work more. Monday I sat down at my desk raring to go and hit a wall. There was an issue with my Adobe account and I was unable to access my Creative Cloud programs. Three days and multiple called to customer service later - I FIXED THE PROBLEM MYSELF. What a waste of time!

I barely made it through the week without being totally behind. I am excited to hopefully start fresh tomorrow. Monday please be nice to me!

Origami Owl Review and Giveaway

ReviewsNicole White44 Comments

I have teamed up with Nidia, an independent consultant for Origami Owl for an adorable review and giveaway.

Keep reading to find out how to win one of two $50 Origami Owl gift certificates or even your dream locket! Please note, this is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own.

image.jpg

Before Nidia and I teamed up, I had heard of Origami Owl but I hadn't seen or tried any of the items for myself. I love the idea of a keepsake locket, and the more I looked at the options the more excited I got.

First let's chat about the presentation. I think this alone makes Origami Owl the perfect gift, you don't need to worry about wrapping because their packaging is so bright and fun.

image.jpg

When my package from Nidia arrived, all of my pieces were packed inside this adorable little take-out inspired box.

image.jpg

You can tell the company puts so much time and care into the packaging. As a graphic designer and shop owner that is something I really appreciate. The packaging is your first look at a company and it helps you form a lasting impression.

image.jpg

The inside flap of the box details some instructions on how to build your locket. It was super easy to put together and the lobster claw makes it easy to switch from chain to purse charm.

The locket is filled with little charms, endless options of which can be found on the Origami Owl website here. I showed Nidia a few that I liked and she customized this locket just for me.

image.jpg

If you aren't a necklace wearer, there is also a keychain/purse charm option.

image.jpg

Nidia also surprised me by engraving the back of the locket. One of my favorite quotes!

image.jpg

My overall thoughts:

The locket feels sturdy, I wouldn't be afraid to make this an everyday piece.

I love that you can choose how you want to wear it. They offer both long and short chains in a variety of styles, as well as the clips shown above that can be used for a keychain or purse charm.

The little charms that fill the locket are adorable and great quality especially for the price. Most charms are in the $5-$6 range. The charm options are really endless. I had such a hard time narrowing it down. I love that there are charms and styles for every personality, another thing that makes Origami Owl such a great gift.

The engraving looks so good, and adds another level of customization to the piece.

Nidia also wanted me to let you know about some promotions that are going on right now!
Through September 5th customers will receive a free white enamel face (large), a $16 value, with any purchase. (EX. You can buy a single $5 charm and still get the locket face free!)
and you can stack that with this promo which ends tonight! SHOP HERE

Shipping Tools for E Commerce Shops

Small Business TipsNicole WhiteComment

I am always being asked by new small businesses or e-commerce shops about the tools we use for shipping. If you are not a small business or e-commerce shop, skip this post because it won't apply to you at all!

Shipping Tools for E Commerce Shops

After years of printing labels, cutting them out and taping them to a package I finally had enough. I felt like I was wasting so much time.

The alternative, a label printer, seemed like SO MUCH money to spend. At the time, we decided to try sticker paper, that would at least eliminate having to tape the labels to the packages. But that paper is so expensive, and the printer was running our of ink fast. So we took the plunge, and ordered a label printer.

It to this day is the single best purchase we made for the business

*please note this post contains affiliate links, but all opinions are my own*

Dymo LabelWriter 4XL

Not only does it print super fast, it uses heat not ink to print the labels, so the only thing you need to replace are the labels when they run out.

The printer itself comes with software which is helpful when you need to print a basic address label, but it's compatible with all shipping services. When I started using the printer it worked printing labels via Etsy perfectly. Now we use ShipStation and it works seamlessly there as well.

When it comes to buying labels we started out using the name brand ones. EXPENSIVE. So we figured it was worth it to try the off - brand labels and we loved them. Not only are the off brand labels significantly cheaper, they are a little lighter and seem to adhere to the packages better.

These are the labels we use for the Dymo LabelWriter 4XL.

I believe this does void the warranty of the printer, not using Dymo brand labels. However, we purchased the label printer in 2013 and we haven't had a single issue with it (that I couldn't fix).

The only issues I have experienced are most likely my fault. A few times some sticky label has gotten around the roller and caused a jam. A minor surgery later it's working just fine.

The last thing that you should have is a scale. I wouldn't waste your money on this, it doesn't need to be fancy. This is the scale that we have.

The investment may seem like a lot, especially when you are just starting out. I thought the same thing. BUT I promise you, no regrets on this!

Personalized Castle Yard Sign

Disney, ReviewsNicole WhiteComment

You know when something comes in the mail that you totally weren't expecting? Imagine my excitement when this beauty arrived on our doorstep from our friends at Galactic Garden Arts.

This is their Castle Inspired Personalized Sign, which is available here in their shop. It comes in your choice of metal finish, and is personalized with your family name. It's also available as a basic Welcome sign, or available with your street number.

I love finding little ways to show our Disney love without being tacky. This totally fits the bill. I think it would make the perfect wedding or anniversary gift for any Disney lovers.

Chris and Laura the owners of Galactic Garden Arts are also a husband and wife team. So much care goes into the designing, production and shipping of their items.

The castle signs are durable, easy to stick in the ground (as long as you don't have horrible Georgia clay like we do!), and you can tell they will weather any storm.

Please go check out and favorite their Etsy shop here, and give them a follow on Instagram!

Disney Cruise Trip Report - Disney Dream

Disney, TravelNicole White5 Comments
Trip Report - Sailing on the Disney Dream

We just got back from our very first Dusney Cruise, my first cruise EVER. It was really one of the most amazing vacations we have ever taken. I have a series of posts that I am working on that will focus more on tips for your first cruise and Castaway Cay info but I thought first I would give a full trip report/review.

We went on the 3 Day Bahamian Cruise sailing from Port Canaveral on the Disney Dream. We spent a few days at Disney Wolrd before the cruise.

SIDE NOTE: If you plan on doing a land/sea vacation I can't recommend more doing the Disney days BEFORE your trip. Getting off the amazing Disney Dream and headed to Disney World will kind of feel like a let down. OH and take a tip from us and don't do a super late After Hours event the night before though. We were totally wiped out for the first night of the cruise. So Disney World days before not after, and make sure to take it easy the day before you get on the boat!

PREP WORK Do your online check in, have that form printed, filled out and with your important documents. Cameron and I don't have passports so we just used copies of our birth certificates and our drivers Licence. Make sure you don't pack these in the suitcase! Have all of you cruise documents easily accessible. Put your luggage tags on your bags!

FRIDAY We left Disney Wolrd around 9am to head to the Port. I am not going to go into super detail about the parking process if you are driving because it had already changed since our friends had gone last so I don't know how often that changes.

If you are driving yourselves from Disney World I will reccomend buying a sunpass. There are SO MANY TOLLS form Disney World to Port Canaveral I think it saved us like 20 min time having the sunpass.

Make sure the driver has their Passport/Birth Certificate and Drivers Licence in hand as you are pulling up. Cameron had to show it a few times before we even got into the port. Once you pull up, they will come to your car to get your bags. It will be a lot easier and smooth if you already have your bags tagged with the luggage tags they give you. Your bags will meet you in your room later that evening.

Overall the process of checking in was super simple. We arrived about 15 min after our scheduled check in time. Have all of your documents handy, you don't want to be the annoying person who has to dig through all of their bags to get their Passport out. They take your photo, and issue you your Key to the World Card (Keep this safe and handy! It's room key, light switch, how you charge things to your room, and how you get on/off the boat) and they also give you the Naviagator for the day. That basically tells you all that is going on. By the time we got through the line, and used the bathroom it was time to board!

Making your way to the boat, you walk through an area that looks a lot like an airline terminal and onto the beautiful BOAT. A cast member will ask your name and announce you as you walk into the main lobby. Be ready to be amazed!

image.jpg
image.jpg

Now you have some options, you will not be able to get into your room until 1:30pm. So depending on your boarding time going straight there probably won't be an option. We went right up to deck 11 and began eating at the buffet, Cabanas. Once we ate our weight in shrimp, we walked around for a bit. Before the boat departs it's considered open house. So adults are able to check out the kids areas which will be off limits for the rest of the cruise. The kids area is AMAZING and it's worth a walk though whether you have kids to register for the kids clubs or not.

We basically walked around and checked the ship out until it was time to head to our room. The pools are open, so if you wanted to you could wear your swimsuit onto the ship and jump right in.

Since the rooms opened at 1:30pm, a crowd starts to form by the stairs on your floor. I would reccomend chilling out somewhere else and giving it about 5 min to let the crowd get to their rooms. When you get to your room, enter using your Key to the World card and stick it in the little metal slot right inside the door because that's how you turn your lights on! The lights will not come on unless your key is in the slot.

We took the next hour or so to NAP. Like I mentioned before super late night at Magic Kingdom made us kind of sleepy for the first day of the cruise. We had an Inside Stateroom, and it was perfect for the two of us. I was nervous about it feeling small or claustrophobic but I didn't feel that way at all. The room and bathroom are very well thought out, and the virtual porthole gives you a window like feel.

image.jpg

Our Stateroom Host knocked on our door and introduced himself. Beware of feeling creeped out, everyone on the cruise will remember your name even the first time you meet them. Disney magic for you!

Around 3 our bags showed up at our door. At 3:45 everyone is asked/required to attend the safety drill at their emergency meeting location. We got ready for the safety drill, dinner and more exploring. It didn't take long at all, but you do have to wait for EVERYONE on the ship to get to their locations so one slow family may slow your drill down. Activities and entertainment start as soon as the safety drill is over.

We decided to really RELAX as much as we could on this cruise since we do the total opposite at Disney World. Because of that we took time to enjoy the sunset, walking around and the spa more than seeing all the shows and movies. So you really have to decide what kind of vacation you want because there is SO MUCH TO DO on the boat!

image.jpg

There is a Sailing Away party as the ship is leaving Port. I reccomend at least being on deck 11 or 12 for this because the music is super fun and the ship's horn plays Disney tunes. It's pretty magical. We had second dinner, so we decided to relax some more on the loungers on deck 4 to watch the sunset, then do some shop browsing before dinner at Royal Palace. (You could also use this time to go see the show for the night, or catch a movie)

image.jpg
image.jpg
image.jpg

After dinner I went back to the room to grab a sweater and we walked around (a very windy) deck 11 for a little bit before heading back to the room and going to sleep!

SATURDAY We decided to sleep in Saturday morning because we had an 11am brunch at Palo (on of the adult's only restaurants on the ship) We also decided to enjoy the ship that day and not get off the boat at Nassau. I would reccomend this if you are taking a short cruise like we were.

SIDE NOTE You have to make reservations for Palo, and it does cost extra. At the time of our sailing it was +$30 per person. I have to say it was well worth it, and one of the highlights of our trip.

I decided to go up to deck 11, where Cabannas and the drink stations are located to get up some fruit and coffee to hold us over until our brunch reservations. You can bring anything from the buffet or quick service locations back to your room, just ask for a lid.

Once I got back to the room we watched Good Morning America (you can watch select stations/shows/sporting events on a few channels on the TV but they also have tons of Disney movies to stream on demand) and got ready for our brunch at Palo.

Palo is a dining event basically. They want you to stay for hours and enjoy all the food. There is a cold buffet, and then hot entrees (both breakfast and lunch items) for you to order. You also get 1 mimosa or glass of wine included in your brunch.

It was unbelievably good, and we had a lovely view of the Bahamas while we ate.

After brunch we rolled ourselves back to our rooms. Meghan and I changed into swimsuits, and headed to use our Rainforest Room passes.

SIDE NOTE The Rainforest Room is apart of the Spa on board. Meghan purchased day passes for the two of us, less than $20 each. The pass gives you access to the Rainforest Room for an entire day, 8am - 10pm. The Rainforest Room is a series of sensory showers, with varying water pressure, lights and some aromatherapy and saunas. You also have access to some amazing hot bed loungers and jacuzzis overlooking the water. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS.

Meghan and I stayed in the Rainforest Room for about 3 hours. Then we met Cameron and Corey on deck 11 to grab something to eat.

Cameron and I ended up heading back to the Rainforest Room together after we ate something, and we watched the ship sailing away from Nassau from the jacuzzis that overlook the water. It was perfect!

Again, we decided to relax in the Rainforest Room for a bit longer instead of going to a show or movie that night. Then to dinner at Animators Pallete and PIRATE NIGHT! Our stateroom host left some Mickey pirate bandanas on our bed, super cute!

image.jpg

So Pirate Night people go all out. You will see entire families dressed up. You will also see people not dressed up so don't feel bad if Pirate wear isn't your favorite. We had second dinner, so immediately following dinner we headed up to deck 12 to get ready for the fireworks!

We were in the PERFECT spot to catch some of the Jack Sparrow themed show before the fireworks started. If you are on deck 12, on the right side if you are facing the movie screen is where I would suggest you stand.

The fireworks were more amazing than I expected! Then the night continues with a Pirate dance party on deck 11 and I think some snacks at Cabannas as well (we were too full from dinner to check it out).

image.jpg

We headed back to the room to get some rest before Castaway Cay, Disney's private island.

The next morning we woke up and got ready for our day as Castaway Cay. We decided wear our swimsuits and get our beach bag ready so we could head straight off the ship after breakfast. After another amazing breakfast at Enchanted Garden we headed down just one floor to the gangway. You will need to make sure you have your Key to the World card, as you scan it as you are leaving and reboarding the ship.

image.jpg

I will go into more detail about Castaway Cay in a seperate post, but we had the best day. We spent most of the day on the adult beach, Serenity Bay. After lunch, a BBQ served on the island, we stayed on the family beach before heading in for the day. There are characters to meet and the water is just total perfection.

image.jpg

Once we got back on the boat, we decided it would be a good time to ride the Aqua Duck, the super fun waterslide. We waited for about 20 min in line, and it was so much fun we rode it twice. By that time it was getting late so we decided to get some coffee and head back to our room to get ready for dinner.

In our room that night was all the info about disembarking the ship the next morning. We had luggage tags (should you decide to have them take your bags off the boat for you), and since we prepaid for our tips we also had tiny envelopes and slips to give our head server, assistant server, server and stateroom host. We also had the survey to fill out, basically about your experience on the trip, and a place to mention anyone who made the trip even more magical.

Once I took care of all of that and we finished getting our sunburned selves ready for dinner Cameron and I did some shopping. Then we decided to watch the last sunset of our trip on the loungers that are located on deck 4. The water was so perfect, even the crew members were mentioning how it's NEVER like that.

We had our last dinner at Enchanted Garden. I distributed our tip envelopes, and we were so tired from the long day in the sun that we headed straight back to the room to pack up and get some sleep. We decided to take our own bags off the ship so we didn't have to give them to our stateroom host that night.

A benefit of having second dinner is that the morning you leave, you get to eat breakfast at 8am instead of 6am! It didn't take us long to back up everything and say goodbye to our beautiful room and we headed to breakfast. Once breakfast was over it was time to disembark.

You will need the same paperwork that you needed to board the ship, so make sure it's all handy! Once you are off the ship, you go straight into customs. One last check, and you are free to go. We were back at the car by 9am I believe. It was a pretty simple process.

Then just like that it was over! What an amazing trip, as always we can't wait to go back.

Sunday Lately Week 73

Sunday LatelyNicole White4 Comments

Welcome to Sunday Lately. A weekly link up hosted by the Blogger Tribe where we catch up and share about our week. Be sure to check out all of the posts in the link up below.

image.jpg

How adorable is my cup that has nothing to do with the rest of the post? My only purchase at Walt Disney World last week. It was available at most shops in the parks and at the resorts.

Creating

A look for our master bedroom. It's one of the only rooms in the house we have done absolutely nothing with.  I really love the color combo here, and the style of this. I want to keep it simple so I can add pieces over time.

I love the idea of light neutral walls, that way I can add fun elements like art prints and pillows. I am not a really matchy-matchy person.

Finding

It more difficult that planned to get over the post-vacation blues that tuned into a post-vacation illness.

Cameron has been amazing taking care of me, but I am seriously ready to feel better.

Switching

The laundry from washer to dryer then folding. All of our vacation laundry is clean and put away and it took me less than a week to make it happen.

New record.

Forgetting

To work. I literally was so sick Friday I didn't know what day it was, or what I was doing. It's a blessing and a curse to work for yourself. Hopefully I will be back on track tomorrow for work.

Craving

A good run. Kind of. I am at least craving the positive side effects of a good run. What is it about being sick that makes you crave being active. Why can't I be motivated to run when I actually feel 100%.

Harveys Alice In Wonderland Collection PART ONE

I am so excited to get to share a first look at the new Harveys Alice in Wonderland Collection, part one.

This collection is one of my favorites they have put together. It focuses on the classic Alice silhouette and also features pieces inspired by the Cheshire Cat.
